Traveling Locally and the Tolerance of Foolishness

I have not slept much since yesterday. I will start with where I got up early because it was special coffee day! Sump re-opened on Thursday and I was anxious to get back down there so I could not sleep real well on Thursday. I woke up early to get in a little bit of a workout and headed over around 1230ish. Drained a pour-over, a shot of espresso, and a cortado, bought 2 bags of Columbian to begin my summer cold extraction experiment, and headed to the Red Cross to pull my shift dispatching.
At midnight I headed to Fenton to locate postcards (this was less out of my way than I thought it would be, probably because I decided to go to the box store on Telegraph instead of the on on 30).
The truck stop in Fenton had no postcards, none, not even blank index cards. I was disappointed, and tired. I next head to the box store, pick up index cards and spent the better part of an hour looking for postcards. Finding none, I head to the checkout. While talking with the checker-outer person I mention that I am going to have to use the index cards because I have been looking all over for postcards and have been unable to locate them. She told me there was a mystical, magical rack that contained postcards and magnets. I went back to find it but was unsuccessful. Fortunately, there was a kindly guardian of the dressing rooms who said, "Well I don't know about postcards, but there is a rack right over . . . hmm there are postcards over here." I grabbed 2 of each kind and went home to address them. It took me just over ninety minutes to address the 27 cards. Then, I made a mistake.
I thought to myself I wonder how much it would cost me to make my own postcards. I created custom images for the front and the back. This took longer than I expected. So I passed out around 0620 and got up at 0830 to make it over to my first stop by 0900. Most of the offices had no problem when I said I need to get this postmarked here. Two were conflicted, but did it anyway, 2 refused to do it at all. I managed to send 10 of the 12 desired cards with only minor conflagration. At the last stop (one of the reluctant ones), the experienced clerk was explaining to a new hire what I wanted. They got it taken care of and I started to leave. I figured since he was in an explaining mood I asked what could say differently next time to avoid this issue. He explained that what I was looking for was not a postmark, but a date stamp. Next time out, I will see if this works any better. If not, I will need to figure out a new course to take to get this done as this was far too tiring to put up with every week. Also, I need to get address labels. I am thinking of selling some postcards.
