Not a ton happened on Tuesday, but I did get to a concert by the end of it.
I got caught up on sleep, waking up after 1000, I was afraid that I would keep everyone waiting if they had plans, but a rested Arlo is a more creative, productive Arlo. When I got to the house, I found that my nephew had gone to work on a project he is making in school and nieces had been up
less than 10 minutes. Double win! My sister got time to do some housework she had been wanting to work on in peace and I got to sleep hours more close to what I am used to.
The first thing I set to work on was the 97 cent pourover filter holdercontraption. I think I am going to make a full instructible on this at some point. As this is the most MacGuyvery thing I have done in a while. I have a few more modifications to make to it. The idea is to make it out of stuff off the shelf in any region of the world and make decent coffee for less that $3. I need to make it so that it can rest on the cup so that I can make an accurate weight/time based pour. also if I could make it very packable that

would be nice. After trimming the stem back to the conical section the smaller of the funnels was just about right for a #2 filter. I think the larger is going to be the one I go with and use a standard bin filter folded over.
I then helped my niece change guitar strings and tune up. The tough part was making sure everything got tossed at each step as she is young and nearly as disorganized as I am. It took us about an hour, but it helped me refine my method so I can write it down for my sister and she can help out in the future.
After this, I made a kite. It was a small lopsided kite that I had help with. I made it from 2 12" dowels and some 4 mil drop cloth. The tail was made from leftover strips from cutting out the shield. I did not get a chance to test
it yet.
The girls had practice at 1730 (scheduled this time), and Jay went back to work on his project at 1830, I left just before 1800 to head to the show at Palace. It was supposed to be two local pickers from 1900-2100. One of the pair showed early. The other was in NM, and had forgotten about the show. He came running and got there around 2030. The one that had showed on time, did an good set and when the other sat down, he looked at him and said 'Since I've played my set, I'm gonna let you get up here and do your thing.' He was also an amazing player and made me wish I spent more time on fingerpicking.
